CiviVolunteer 2.0: New Features & Timeline

Thanks to everyone who supported the CiviVolunteer 2.0 fundraising campaign.  We wanted to share with you some of the key improvements we have been working on in order to make it easier for you to recruit and manage volunteers. The CiviVolunteer 2.0 beta is scheduled to be released by the CiviCRM User Summit in September. 

To help with your volunteer recruitment efforts, you will be able to publish a list of all your volunteer opportunities and your volunteers will be able to search the list to find the opportunities that best fit their interest and schedule.  Volunteers will also be able to sign up for multiple opportunities at once.

Another enhancement in CiviVolunteer 2.0 is an improved volunteer project management interface that is separate from CiviEvents. It will also allow you to communicate more effectively with your volunteers by allowing you to create scheduled reminders and automatic email notifications if there are changes in the volunteer shifts.
